Collection: Hawaiian Petroglyphs
Petroglyphs, known in Hawaiian as ki'i pohaku (ki'i = image, pohaku = rock) are rock carvings found along the coastlines and lava fields of the Hawaiian Islands. The ancient Hawaiians carved images of men, women, animals and spirits as part of communication, religious rites or to document an event or occasion. You can still find evidence of this practice today on all the islands.
