Collection: Flower Pendants
Around 1894, some 30 years after the birth of Hawaiian jewelry, its growing popularity fueled a flourishing hand-engraved cottage industry throughout the islands. Local jewelers competed to distinguish their work, developing a variety of intricate scrolling patterns. Native flowers and leaves blended naturally with traditional Old English scrollwork, leading to the reinvention of Hawaiian jewelry that incorporated these local elements. From this evolution, two of the most popular floral designs emerged - Hibiscus and Plumeria.
